The TGC 2019 simulation software introduces Baltusrol Lower PGA16, a meticulously crafted course module by designer mcbogga (Robert Karlsson). This virtual course draws inspiration from the esteemed Baltusrol Golf Club’s Lower Course, located at 201 Shunpike Rd, Springfield, New Jersey. Established in 1922 by architect A.W. Tillinghast, the Lower Course has undergone significant renovations by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1952, Rees Jones in 2009, and most recently by Gil Hanse in 2021, ensuring its status as a premier championship venue.
Spanning 7,400 yards with a par of 72 and a challenging slope rating of 147, the course offers a rigorous test for golfers. The layout features wide fairways and intricately contoured greens, demanding precise shot-making.
Set against the backdrop of rolling parkland shaped by glacial activity, the course’s natural beauty is accentuated by mature trees and water features, providing a serene yet challenging environment. Open seasonally from April 15 to October 15, Baltusrol Lower PGA16 offers players an immersive experience of one of golf’s most storied courses.
