Congressional Country Club

TGC 2019 brings Congressional Country Club to life in a detailed recreation by rod81simo / Rod Simpson. The design draws from the private club at 8500 River Rd, Bethesda, Maryland, in Montgomery County. The original course opened in 1924. Players face 18 holes, par 72, 7,278 yards, and a slope of 142. Bent grass covers fairways and greens. You can play at this course any time of the year. The architectural lineage spans Devereux Emmet, Alfred H. Tull, Robert Trent Jones, Sr., Rees Jones, Greg Muirhead, Steve Weisser, Drew Rogers, Ed Ault, Tom Clark, Tom Winton, and Andrew Green, who recently refreshed the Blue Course. Two 18-hole layouts, Blue and Gold, move through gentle rolls and mature hardwood and pine corridors. Seasonal color frames every shot. Selective clearing now reveals sweeping views toward the Spanish Revival clubhouse. Water shapes strategy, especially the pond guarding Blue 10 and 18. Textured contrasts of fairway, rough, and native fescue enrich visuals. Enjoy swimming, billiards, fitness, tennis, and the clubhouse. Expect demanding lies that reward bold shot shaping and nerve.
