The Grizzly is a popular course module that was launched by the TGC 2019 simulation software. Designed by friendBOMBER, the beauty of the course inspired the designer to bring the original course, named The City of Mason Golf Center, to a gaming module. Together with Desmond Muirhead, Jack Nicklaus created The Grizzly Course. This challenging course has hosted multiple PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA competitions since it opened in 1972. It measures 6504 yards, comprises 130 slopes, and has a par value of 71.
The semi-private golf course has bunkers placed strategically throughout and lengthy, curved fairways surrounding tall trees. The three last holes have water hazards as well as a challenging assortment of bunkers. It has a good number of challenging holes, but overall, the course is playable for players of different ability levels, making it a desirable design for competitions. The Golf Center also has an 11,000-square-foot putting green and an academy course with four championship holes in addition to the two courses.
