TGC 2019 simulation software introduces the Royal County Down course module, expertly crafted by Cathalos1991. This module draws inspiration from the Royal Dornoch Championship course, located at 36 Golf Links Road, Newcastle, Northern Ireland. Originally built in 1889, the course features 18 holes with a par of 71, stretching 7,206 yards and presenting a challenging slope of 145. Old Tom Morris designed the original layout in 1890, with H.S. Colt making significant modifications in 1925.

Players experience authentic links-style golf on this public course, available year-round. The course nestles within Murlough Nature Reserve, a 6,000-year-old sand dune system that creates dramatic natural features. The majestic Mountains of Mourne provide a stunning backdrop, while Dundrum Bay and the Irish Sea offer breathtaking coastal views extending to the Isle of Man on clear days.

Massive sand dunes shape the narrow fairways, creating blind shots and elevation changes that demand precision. Vibrant purple heather and golden gorse frame the course, punishing wayward shots. The famous “bearded” bunkers, topped with overhanging marram grass and red fescue, add both beauty and difficulty. The clubhouse completes this authentic links experience.
